Tomato Basil Cream Sauce

- 2 tablespoons Bionaturae Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Pinch red chili flakes
- 8 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 shallots, finely minced
- 2 tablespoons Bionaturae Tomato Paste
- 1 bunch fresh basil, about 25 leaves, loosely chopped
- 1 (28-ounce) can Bionaturae Crushed Tomatoes
- ½ cup nutritional yeast
- ½ cup (or more to taste) heavy cream or non-dairy unsweetened creamer
- Instructions
- Heat olive oil to a medium saucepan over low heat. Once oil is hot, add chili flakes, garlic, and shallots, sauté until fragrant, about 5 minutes.
- Add tomato paste, basil, and crushed tomatoes. Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally and using the back of your spoon to break up tomatoes.
- Add nutritional yeast and cream to sauce. Salt and pepper to taste.
